We are pleased to bring to your attention new NHS school and parent resources to ease moving up transitions with a focus on raising children's emotional wellbeing. www.inourplace.co.uk/moving-up is an NHS parent portal for:
- easy-to-follow video resources for parents to help support emotional wellbeing during school transitions: with insights from Headteacher of Balsall Common Primary School and NHS Consultant Clinical Psychologist (as well as children sharing their thoughts!)
- online learning and resources with tailored material for supporting children with additional needs and considerations
- signposts for practical support and ideas to ensure smooth transitions, including information on mobile phone use and technology
- extensive additional e-learning content for parents on childhood development and emotional health from 0-19+

Also available is the course ‘Moving up to secondary school for children with additional needs’. This short specialist course is for parents, relatives or friends of children who have additional needs. Your child may be dyspraxic, dyslexic, very anxious, autistic, really dislike change, have ADHD, a learning disability, a physical disability or any other additional need. It is designed to support both parents/carers and children as they transition into secondary school. Building on the principles of nurturing emotional wellbeing shaped by the Solihull Approach, the course will help to develop communication and support the child's development.
